Impact Texas Drivers Program

The ITD Program was developed with the goal of saving lives through increased awareness. This program is an effort to reduce the risk of being involved in a crash, especially those collisions caused by distracted driving.  Distracted driving is the number one killer of drivers in America, and this program shows what can happen when drivers are distracted while driving.

What are the requirements for a vehicle used in the test?

The vehicle must have working signals in the front and back of the vehicle, a working horn, license plates in the front and back, and valid insurance.

It is not required that the individual taking the test have their name on the insurance, only that the vehicle is insured.

No, A+ Academy Driving School is an authorized 3-party test provider.  Only the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) can issue licenses.

What do I do with the sealed envelope?

The envelope must be submitted to DPS to receive a Texas drivers license.  The envelope is not a substitute for the license.

Which DPS do I take my envelope to?

All DPS locations in the state of Texas will accept your sealed envelope.  A+ Academy Driving School is listed in Tarrant County.

I opened my envelope.  What should I do?

You will need to return to our office to have your documents resealed.

I took a teen course/parent taught, but I turned 18. Which requirements do I follow?

Because you started with the teen course, you will need bring documents showing you completed the teen course.

If extenuating circumstances are preventing you from completing the teen course, you can start over with the adult course. If you start over with the adult course, then you will need to bring the adult required documents.
