A Texas DPS-Issued Teen Learner's Permit or a B-Restricted Adult Driver's License with a photo is required to take the test.
Create your student account by registering.Then view the schedule, pay, and book an appointment. Select "Student Center" to view the available appointments before making payment. We add appointments all the time. Payment submitted before checking availability or document requirements (including the permit) is not subject to a refund.
Bring printed copies of all required documents and a vehicle you are comfortable driving to your appointment. Documents vary based on the driver ed program completed, as listed on this page.
Your required documents and test results will be sealed in an envelope for you to deliver to any DPS office. Opening the envelope will void your documents, and extra fees may apply. Submit your envelope to DPS by appointment or walk-in. DPS will issue another paper copy of your license and send the plastic by mail.

Check your skills, practice parallel parking, and get tips in preparation for your DPS-Authorized Road Test. You can choose a single 1-hour driving lesson or a larger driving lesson package based on your experience and confidence behind-the-wheel. Your driving lesson appointment and road test may not be scheduled on the same day.
