    Check your skills, practice parallel parking, and get tips in preparation for your DPS-Authorized Road Test. You can choose a single 1-hour driving lesson or a larger driving lesson package based on your experience and confidence behind-the-wheel. Your driving lesson appointment and road test may not be scheduled on the same day.

    All documents and a vehicle must be provided on the day of your road test appointment. The road test is non-refundable. No-shows will be charged for a second attempt.

Step 1: Scheduling

A Texas DPS-Issued Teen Learner's Permit or an Adult B-Restricted Driver's License, with a photo, is required to take the road test

  • Create Your Student Account - This will allow you to view the schedule, pay and secure your road test appointment 
  • Collect all required documents based on your completed program. Bring Hard Copies of your required documents.

Note: The Road Test is specifically designed to remove the B-Restriction, which requires a licensed adult to be present in the vehicle. Tests for court-ordered or medically-related purposes must be conducted at a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) office.

Verify all document requirements, including your permit, before making a payment. Payments made without verifying availability or document prerequisites are non-refundable

Step 2: Required on Test Day

Bring printed hard copies of all required documents and a vehicle you are comfortable driving to your road test appointment.

Hard Copies of ALL documents are required for your road test appointment, otherwise you will incur a rescheduling fee.  Requesting us to print digital copies may incur a fee.  Please bring hard copies.

Step 3: Road Test Results

After completing your test, you will be notified of your Pass or Fail results and recommendations to improve your skills.

  • For Passing scores, your documents and test results will be sealed in an envelope. These will need to be submitted to the DPS to receive a license.
    • Returning Envelope to DPS by appointment or walk-in. Keep the envelope sealed, otherwise your scores will be invalidated. Fees may apply to reseal the envelope.

      • You can schedule at any Texas DPS location
    • Online Submission of road test results are available for those who meet the criteria for an additional fee of $75. This service will save you the extra trip back to the DPS.
  • Unsuccessful applicants may schedule an additional attempt on a later date for a $65 reattempt fee
