Getting Your License
Requirements for 16 or 17 years olds with a learner license:
- Held Texas learner license for at least 180 days. The road test must be taken on or after the date listed on the back of the learner permit.
- Have completed classroom & behind-the-wheel portions of a Teen Driver Education Course.
Documents Required on the Day of your Test:
- A hard copy of your green teen completion certificate (DE-964), if completed at another driving school or through Parent-Taught driver education. We will provide the DE-964 to students who complete our teen program.
- Printed Impact Texas Teen Driver (ITTD) program within the past 90 days
- Completed 30-hour log with signatures & license numbers of the student & licensed driver
- Provide a hard copy of the Verification of Enrollment (VOE) from your student's registrar or attendance clerk.
Requirements for 18 to 24 years old, with B-Restricted Driver License:
- Hold a Texas driver license with a 'B Restriction' (for a licensed driver in the front seat)
- Have completed the Adult Driver Education (ADE) Course
Documents Required on the Day of your Test:
- A hard copy of your completion certificate for the Adult Driver Education Course.
- Printed Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) education program within the past 90 days.
Requirements for 25 years or older, with a B-Restricted Driver License:
- Hold a Texas driver license with a 'B Restriction' (for a licensed driver in the front seat)
- Have taken the Knowledge Test at DPS or completed the Adult Driver Education (ADE) Course
Documents Required on the Day of your Test:
Vehicle Requirements for Road Test
- Current insurance and registration
- Mechanically operating
- Working horn
- All headlights, signals, and brake lights must be operational in the front and back of the vehicle.
Note: Please have enough gas in the vehicle for a 20-minute drive. Running out of gas during a test is subject to an automatic fail.
